1998 Three different types of α-amylases from Aspergillus awamori KT-11: their purifications, properties, and specificities ,,Kazuo Ito, Masaru Iizuka, Noshi MINAMIURA Three forms of α-amylases, designated Amyl I, Amyl II, and Amyl III were purified to a homogenous state by several column chromatographies from a koji culture in wheat bran of a strain of black mold, which was isolated in Indonesia and identified as Aspergillus awamori. They have molecular weights of 49,000, 63,000, and 97,000 by SDS-PAGE, respectively, and the optimum pHs were 4.0 for Amyl I and 5.5 for both Amyl II and Amyl III on soluble starch. Amyl I hydrolyzed malto-tetraose,-pentaose,-hexaose,-heptaose, and β-and γ-cyclodextrin to produce maltose and maltotriose as major products but not or hardly hydrolyzed maltose, isomaltose,… Lihat
1998 Two kinds of novel α-glucosidases from Aspergillus awamori KT-11: Their purifications, properties and specificities ,Young-Geun Ann, Kazuo Ito, Masaru Iizuka, Noshi Minamiura Two glucose-forming enzymes were purified to an electrophoretically pure state from the extract of koji culture of Aspergillus awamori KT-11 using wheat bran. Both the enzymes hydrolyzed maltotriitol to produce an α-anomeric form of glucose and maltidol, and were identified as α-glucosidases (named α-G I and α-G II). The molecular weights were determined to be 108,000 for α-G I and 106,000 for α-G II by fast protein liquid chromatography, but their amino acid compositions were almost the same. The molecular weights of the subunits were estimated by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) to be 62,000 and 31,000 for the… Lihat
1998 The Use of Scanning Electron Microscope/SEM Dwi Bayuwati, Wagiyo and Suryadi The use of Scanning Electron Microscope/SEM to evaluate the growth quality of laser diode/LD crystal layers is described. The crystal layers consist of epitaxial layers which are grown using liquid phase epitaxial technique. When electron beam from the electron generator at SEM hits the crystal layers, other electrons (back scattered or secondary) are ejected from the layers, collected and converted into a signal by detectors and then are sent to a viewing screen producing an image that contains information about the condition of the crystal layers. Evaluation of growth quality has been done on LD crystal layers based on III… Lihat
1998 Tectonic implications of new age data for the Meratus Complex of south Kalimantan, Indonesia Koji Wakita, Kazuhiro Miyazaki, Iskandar Zulkarnain, Jan Sopaheluwakan, Prihardjo Sanyoto Cretaceous subduction complexes surround the southeastern margin of Sundaland in Indonesia. They are widely exposed in several localities, such as Bantimala (South Sulawesi), Karangsambung (Central Java) and Meratus (South Kalimantan). The Meratus Complex of South Kalimantan consists mainly of mlange, chert, siliceous shale, limestone, basalt, ultramafic rocks and schists. The complex is uncomformably covered with Late Cretaceous sedimentary-volcanic formations, such as the Pitap and Haruyan Formations.Well-preserved radiolarians were extracted from 14 samples of siliceous sedimentary rocks, and KAr age dating was performed on muscovite from 6 samples of schist of the Meratus Complex. The radiolarian assemblage from the chert of the… Lihat
1998 Kebiasaan makan empat jenis katak Rana asal Kelila, Kabupaten Jayawija, Irian Jaya. Hellen Kurniati Exploration of frog for genus of Rana had been carried out at Kelila District, Jayawijaya Regency, Irian Jaya. There were found four genus of Rana which lived sympatric. Results of stomach content analysis of those frogs showed that their main prey were insects (x=75.6 persen). The Piankas Index of food overlap were 0.25 between Rana jimiensis and R. grisea; 0.98 between R. jimiensis and R. papua and 0.80 between R. grisea and R. papua. These indexes showed that competition between R. jimiensis and R. papua and between R. grisea and R. papua were strong. Lihat

1998 Misi Dakwah dan Transformasi Sosial: Studi Kasus di Bayan, Lombok Barat Erni Budiwanti This writing is based on a fieldwork research conducted in 1993 in the village of Bayan, bayan sub-district of West Lombok regency. In general it discusses on the proliferation of Islamic teaching in Lombok. It is unique that the process of Islamisation in Lombok has created two segments of the Sasak society into the Wetu Telu and the Waktu Lima. The Wetu Telu are the Sasak who, although acknowledging themselves to be Muslims, still believe strongly in the ancestral animistic deities as well as anthropomorphised inanimate objects. In other words they are pantheists. The Waktu Lima, on the… Lihat
