This National Park has a variety of unique ecology as the transition region Indomalayan geographic regions in the west and Papua-Australia in the east (Wallaceae Area) at elevation 0f 50 1,970 m covering lowland, sub-montane and montane forests. The research was carried out in Bolaang Mongondow within the Bogani Nani Wartabone, using a plot method on an area of 100 m x 100 m ( 1 ha) at about 900 m asl. Trees (diameter of breast height of 10 cm) and saplings (diameter of 2-9.9 cm, measured 50 cm from the ground) were recorded for their species, diameter, height to the first branch ( for trees only), and total height. The result showed that the studied forest consisted of 81 tree species belonging to 57 genera and 35 families with a density of 339 individual trees/ha. Dominant trees were Agathis dammara, Santiria laevigata, Castanopsis acuminatissima, and Eugenia lineata. Important tree families were Lauraceae, Euphorbiaceae, Rubiaceae, and Icacinaceae. While saplings were belonging to 70 species, 51 genera, and 32 families with density of 1.024 saplings/ha.
