Tentang Estiko Rijanto
Estiko Rijanto was born at Purbalingga-Indonesia in 1967. In 1987 he enrolled at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) - Indonesia, and he moved to Japan in 1988 to pursue his B.Eng. under the Overseas Fellowship Program (OFP) IV scholarship from the Republic of Indonesia. He completed his B.Eng. degree at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Tokyo - Japan in 1993 in Mechanical Systems Engineering. He received M.Eng. and Dr.Eng. degrees from the same university in 1995 and 1998, respectively.
He was granted a post-doctoral program at the Venture Business Laboratory TUAT-Tokyo, where he completed his book on Robust Control: Theory for Application which was published by the ITB Press – Bandung in 2000. He continued his post doctoral program at NSK Co. Ltd. in Maebashi - Japan where he served as a project engineer for development of electric power steering control systems for city cars. Since 2002, he has been conducting R&D activities at the Research Center for Electrical Power and Mechatronics, the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in Bandung - Indonesia. Since 2011 he has also been serving as a consultant for the state owned electricity company in development and implementation of new digital electro-hydraulic control for govenors, and excitation systems for coal-fired, geothermal, as well as hydro power plants. In 2013, he was inaugurated the Research Professor on Applied Control Systems by LIPI. His research interests include control systems and their applications for power generations, power electronics, renewable energies, battery management systems, electric vehicles, robotics, and mechatronics.
Prof. Dr. Rijanto serves as the chairman of the Indonesian Researchers Union (HIMPENINDO) LIPI section since 2014 up to the present.
